ATTENTION TUMBLR: KAI STILL NEEDS YOUR HELP!
locksandglasses: Last year I was on Philly’s youth slam team that went to Brave New Voices, an international spoken word competition, that took place in The Bay Area. We were amongst 50 teams, about 250+ poets and we won! Now it is 2012 and I’m on the team again. We have to get more than a dozen kids and a pretty large handful of mentors to San Francisco and back. That costs money and we are...

So this morning the small childrens’ shop at Stanhope was playing music from the RAD intermediate syllabus. Turns out the shop assistant was having a bit of a practise, so I joined her for all of ten minutes. I just confirmed her fb request, this is how I wish to make friends forevermore.

sombreaclair replied to your post: tell us your story I too am often dissatisfied with the world. It seems not enough for me, I thirst for so much more. People are my more. You should be called zombie a claire. Don’t drink people. Or their tiny fictions, interact and become friends. Interact with yourself and find your spiritual side, or just lose yourself at Defqon.

darklayde: So yesterday I saw the hand written manuscript of Ethel Turner’s ‘Seven Little Australians’ and I was a little bit flushed with excitement because I love that book. Sobbing over Judy’s death is one of the most queerly satisfying things I have ever done more then once. This child’s pretty jealous. I wonder if her handwriting shifted a little, in that chapter. I used to read...

More on “inappropriate” anatomy in US parliaments: Florida, May 2012, where the Republican seats were concerned that the word “uterus” was inappropriate to use in a public forum where young pages/messengers that were inside the room might hear. I don’t think the correct labels for any body part should be ‘kept secret’ from any child at any age. A four...

Why Kristen Stewart Matters: A Screed About Girls,...
katespencer: … It’s when I’m standing in front of a rack of tiny t-shirts that declare “Princess!” across the chest, or a pile of Cinderella costumes in 3-12 month sizes, that I say a silent prayer of thanks for Kristen Stewart. Yes, the twitchy girl from Twilight who never smiles. And yes, I like both those things about her…even though she’s not that twitchy and she actually smiles quite...

Ma: You are so secretive and cold, would it kill you to let me in on what you actually do in your life?
Ma: Now there are too many stories! I run a household and three classrooms and I've got a postgrad degree to finish off, I do not have time for these "dialogues on social issues".
Ma: Don't get mad at me, you have study to do. Off!

I thought I might get up early to pop by the Sydney Observatory to grab some $5 ‘sun-safe’ glasses to check out Venus and what not. But then I thought, meh. People will publish naked-eye-friendly photos I’m sure. I’ll think I’ll just claim planetary influence and act all love sick for a few hours. Unlucky to be a yak tomorrow, no? Drown in the inevitable tsunami of...
